In what was otherwise a really shitty season for Arsenal, they managed to make it to the Champions league knockout stages but lo and behold, up came Bernabeu. A stadium and a team that made opponents shiver when they heard the name Real Madrid. With players like Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo ( the legendary Brazilian one), Roberto Carlos and so many more, teams were terrified of facing them. With multiple injuries to the Arsenal side, it seemed that the match was Madridas to lose, but Arsenal for some unknown reason were playing with a swagger not seen all season until now. With multiple chances for both teams, the match was at a standstill.

But that all changed after the half. Two minutes after the half and the match got much much better for Arsenal. Faberegas passed it to Henry near the centre circle and the Frenchman was possessed with the will to score. He muscled off Ronaldo, then skipped past Guti and Alvaro Mejia before again with considerable ease muscled off Sergio Ramos. Then, with only the keeper to beat, he calmly slotted the ball into the far corner of the net and past a helpless Iker Casillas, words not used in the same sentence again for quite some time.

The goal was an epitome of Thierry Henry and as Richard Clarke said a?the cathedral had its messiah for the night.a
