With the less than two weeks till the end of the transfer window, transfer’s as expected are in full swing for almost every club.

And with comes all the latest transfer rumours from around the globe and today we dissect rumours about Arsenal. Which as expected are a dime a dozen, with no major player moves made so far. One might have hoped that a 4-3 loss to Liverpool would have sparked a defender’s move to the North London club but nothing, nothing but rumours. But then again with Arsene Wenger saying less than 3 hours ago that he and Arsenal are not afraid to spend money. And also that Thierry Henry’s claim is not true, after the former Arsenal striker said that top players no longer want to join the Gunners.

Wenger said and I quote ‘You are absolutely convinced that I don’t want to spend the money,” he said. “I would just like to reassure you we are ready to spend the money we have as always. Not the money we haven’t got. And it’s not my money.’ The Frenchman further added ‘Buying calms the fans down of course. But first of all you have always to be convinced by the quality of the player.AAnd you have then to make a decision how much you pay over the odds. That is not the basic problem.’

Jose Gimenez
Jose Gimenez

With problems with their back four, the Gunners have opened talks between them and Atletico to sign the exciting Jose Gimenez. The 21 year old defender is a fast and physical player and is has good aerial abilities. For Arsenal this means, no more slow Metersacker as the defender whilst tall and strong, is extremely slow. But with a release clause of nearly 60 million pounds, it seems that Arsenal’s original offer of 40 million will a tad bit too less.

With both Rob Holding and Calum Chambers being very young and inexperienced at this level of football, it seems that Arsenal will need some back-up, with Koscienly not fully fit and Mertesacker out till the new year. They have although been strongly linked to Shkodran Mustafi in the last few weeks but have not been able to make the deal a possibility. AWith Valencia eager to “balance their books” and sell a few players, it seems that this as good as a go ahead for Arsenal. But with the Spanish side wanting 30 million pounds, it seems Wenger is only willing to go as high as 20 million.

Julian Draxler
Julian Draxler

Meanwhile is other news, Riyad Mahrez seems to have signed a new 4 year deal with the BPL champions and Arsenal now look towards Julian Draxler. With Simone Zaza, (the penalty dancer) on his way to Wolfsburg it seems that Arsenal can make a move for the 50 million pound man. Wenger has always liked the German’s style of play and has been very very eager to sign him, but the move never happened. Wolfsburg made the move and signed the 22 year old. But now it seems that a 43 million bid by the Gunners may be what Wolfsburg want after Draxler,Awho had earlier in the summer upset his current employers by pushing for a move away from the German club.

Wenger is however also after Jose Fonte, the Southampton centre back and West Brom’s Jonny Evans and had an offer for midfielder Mario Lemina rejected. This Arsenal manager I tell you!! He once signed Thierry Henry on a mere whim, and then Freddie Lungberg, Gilberto Silva and now he refuses to buy anyone important. It’s no use Wenger, you’ll never find another squad like the 2003-2004 Arsenal squad ever in your lifetime (hopefully he does).
