4. Chelsea’s defense isn’tAperfect and their late substitutions killed the game

Dele Alli opens the scoring for Spurs

Conceding one goal from Aa superb cross can be called unfortunate but going 2-0 down because of an identical goal showed that Chelsea, who boast the best defence in the league, has some defensive problems to work out. As the game moved on Chelsea defenders were anything but alert and energetic, losing the ball Ain threatening positions and failing to track a player after losing possession. The Chelsea defence looked lethargic and nothing like the one we had seen throughout the season.

Cesc Fabregas was brought on in place of Kante to try and influence the game. Conte also brought on Willian to try and increase the pace of the game in a bid to mount a comeback. But both the substitutions were made rather late and none of the pair could try and influence the game. Fresh legs were the solutions and Conte realised it but a bit too late it seems.
