253 runs 6th wicket partnership between Ross Taylor and BJ Watling takes New Zealand to a winning position.
After a good batting display by Kane Williamson who fell 9 runs short of his century and Tom Latham who was dismissed on a well played 105 runs, Zimbabwe got some wickets in the last session of Day 2.
New Zealand resumed on 315 runs for the loss of 4 wickets on Day 3. Just after 8 runs they lost Ish Sodhi who was sent in as a night watchman on the previous day. This was followed by some brilliant batting by Ross Taylor and BJ Watling. Both of them managed to score centuries for their side and as promised by Kane Williamson the Kiwias batted for a long time in order to get decent practice before heading to South Africa and India.
The Kiwias lost BJ Watling on the score of 576 runs and they decided to declare. A lead of 412 runs would make sure that they do not walk onto the field again with the bat in hand.
