On the second day of the first test between England and West Indies, it was the visitors who fairly dominated the proceedings on the field. WI took control of the contest as their skipper Jason Holder picked up an impressive figure of 6 wickets for 42 runs supported by Shannon Gabriel’s four-for.
Take a look at three of the most impactful players from Day 2 action:
Ben Stokes – England
The stand-in captain Ben Stokes played a good hand of 43 to ensure that his side has a decent total to support their bowling. He would certainly believe that England will bounce back on the 3rd day with quick wickets.
Jason Holder – West Indies
Holder proved his mettle by picking up 6 wickets on a very suitable pitch for him. The skipper alongside Shane Dowrich contributed the side very well as the keeper also had a good day with safe pair of gloves picking up 3 crucial catches.
Shannon Gabriel – West Indies
As the other fast bowlers like Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph failed to pick the wickets, Shannon Gabriel made his point by picking up 4 wickets and making a good day for himself. The fast bowler bowled really very well with swing and pace to destruct the English top order. He would certainly believe that his side posts a good total so he will be more confident to bowl well in the second innings also.
