UP Yoddha will clash with Tamil Thalaivas today on the penultimate night of the Lucknow Leg of Pro Kabaddi League.
The teams head into this fixture on back of losses albeit in different circumstances. UP Yoddha have lost 4 consecutive games on the trot in their home leg. Tamil Thalaivas just missed out against Dabang Delhi by a point in Ahmedabad.
UP Yoddha side will be reeling to get back to their good form which they had displayed initially. The home leg has so far proven a disastrous one for them as they have failed to win in 4 attempts. The blame can be attributed to their negative approach; resorting to usage of too many empty raids and losing nerves at crucial times. Against Bengal Warriors, at the end when the game was very close, the raider went for a tie instead of going all out; which resulted in Aa huge failure as they ended up losing again.
Raiders Nitin Tomar and Rishank Devadiga have felt the effects of these negative tactics; their raiding average going down in the home leg. They will look for better support from the defense in the coming matches. Supporting raiders Mahesh Goud, Rajesh Narwal and Surender Singh will look to step up their game as well. Defense, led by Jeeva Kumar has found a positive side with their well executed “Super Tackles”; with the Yoddhas leading the charts. This success is due to the play of young Sagar Krishna, who has been responsible for the bulk of tackle points recently.
On the other hand, Tamil Thalaivas, will be raring to go after a close loss against Delhi. Skipper Ajay Thakur finally had a good outing, scoring 14 raid points against Delhi. He has the young, lanky Prapanjan alongide with D Pradap, also ably assisting in the raiding department. The defense is marshalled by Amit Hooda, who has looked promising lately with the support ofADarshan, C Arun and Vineet Kumar.
