A thrilling contest in Panchkula ended in a 40-40 tie between Bengaluru Bulls and Patna Pirates on Wednesday at the Tau Devilal Sports Complex, as both raiding units showcased why they are among the best in the business in Pro Kabaddi Season 6.

The star raiders from both teams got off the mark early as Pardeep Narwal got three raid points in the opening six minutes while Rohit Kumar and Pawan Kumar Sehrawat got two each, keeping the score at a tight 6-5 in Patna Pirates’ favor. But a two-point raid from Narwal and Vikas Jaglan’s tackle on Sehrawat reduced Bengaluru Bulls down to just three men, giving Patna Pirates a four-point lead.

With the Super Tackle on, Mahender Singh pounced on the opportunity to score two points and followed it with another tackle on Manjeet a minute later to level the score at 9-9.

Manjeet and Vikas Jaglan added two more points to Patna Pirates’ score, but what followed was an 11-point run from Bengaluru Bulls, that included an All-Out, giving them a nine-point lead in the contest. The star of this run was captain Rohit Kumar who scored three raid points and also got the final touch point that inflicted the All Out. Raju Lal Choudhary, Kashiling Adake and Mahender Singh added a tackling point each while Pawan Kumar Sehrawat added two raid points to Bengaluru Bulls’ score as the teams went into the break with Bengaluru Bulls leading 20-11.

Vijay kicked off the second half on a positive note for Patna Pirates, scoring a two-point raid and, a self-out from three Bengaluru Bulls defenders in the following minute brought Patna Pirates back into the contest. Vikas Kale tackled Rohit Kumar out of bounds and Narwal made short work of the two men left on the mat, eliminating them both in the same raid to inflict the All-Out and level the score at 21-21. Soon after, Narwal scored the game’s first Super Raid to give his side a four-point lead and put Bengaluru Bulls in a tricky situation.

But captain Rohit Kumar stepped up to the challenge and scored nine raid points in five raid attempts, to delay the All-Out. Narwal’s relentless pursuit, though, finally paid off as he got a touch point on Rohit Kumar and soon after the defence tackled down Sehrawat to inflict the All-Out and give Patna Pirates a one-point lead in the contest. The two teams kept trading points for the next few minutes as the score was level at 37-37.

In the 39th minute, Narwal was tackled down by Mahender Singh yet again and Adake followed it up another tackle on Vijay to give Bengaluru Bulls a three-point lead.

With barely a minute left, Vikas Jaglan scored a two-point raid to bring Patna Pirates back into the contest and then, on the defensive side, tackled Sehrawat to earn another point and level the scores just as the clock expired, ending the match in a tie.
