Bengal Warriors scored 16 points in the last five minutes of the game including two All-Outs to come from behind and beat Bengaluru Bulls 37-31 at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.

With this victory, Bengal Warriors achieved a sweep against Bengaluru Bulls this season, winning all three encounters. Maninder Singh starred for Bengal Warriors once again, returning with 16 raid points.

Pawan Kumar Sehrawat started the night brightly for Bengaluru Bulls as he returned with the first three points of the game, including a tackle point. Sehrawat also gave Bengal Warriors’ first points of the night owing to Maninder’s successful raid in the fourth minute. Jang Kun Lee then added another successful raid and became the first foreigner to 400 VIVO Pro Kabaddi raid points.

However, Bengaluru Bulls kept on increasing their lead while Bengal Warriors were chasing them throughout the half. With Bengaluru Bulls three points ahead, Maninder returned with a two-point raid off the game’s first do-or-die raid to reduce the deficit back to a point. However, Rohit Kumar immediately responded with a two-point raid of his own. Just when it seemed Bengal Warriors were coming back, substitute Harish Naik put in a two-point raid with his first raid of the night before Sehrawat got a touch on Surjeet Singh to give Bengaluru Bulls their highest lead of the half.

With both teams going toe to toe, Bengaluru Bulls managed to maintain their advantage. However, Lee put in a two-point raid before the half ended to reduce the deficit down to two points. The final point of the half went Rohit’s way as he got a touch on Surjeet to ensure Bengaluru Bulls kept their three-point lead going into the half, with the scores reading 15-12.

The second half began with both teams playing on the do-or-die raids. A touch by Rohit on Baldev Singh reduced Bengal Warriors to a solitary player on the mat. However, an attempted dash by Mahender Singh on Lee couldn’t give Bengaluru Bulls the All-Out as he went out of the playing area without getting a touch. However, with Lee also out, Bengal Warriors were still down to a solitary player on the mat and Rohit got a touch on Maninder in the 5th minute to inflict the first All-Out of the game.

With Bengaluru Bulls ahead by six points at 21-15, Maninder came into his own, scoring the next three points. They managed to get the deficit down to two and then inflicted their first All-Out of the game in the 15th minute. Bengal Warriors also gained the lead for the first time in the game as a result.

Maninder then turned the game around with a five-point raid in the 16th minute. The Super Raid included touches on Amit Sheoran, Sangwan, Sehrawat and Rohit to go with a bonus, thus completing his Super 10 as well. He then followed it up with a two-point raid to reduce Bengaluru Bulls to a solitary player on the mat. Bengal Warriors inflicted their second All-Out within three minutes as Baldev managed a back hold on Naik with the scores reading 36-27.

The game, however, saw an interesting finish as Ran Singh did not cross the baulk line of the final raid and also ran out of time, giving two points to Bengaluru Bulls and thus handing them a point out of the encounter.
