Jason Holder admits the lack of execution and a collective team effort led to the humiliating defeat in the 1st Test match against India.

A one sided encounter which the visitors managed to win by an innings and 92 runs indicated towards the need of improvement for the West Indies side in the coming games. West Indies Test side which has a majority of players who are young and new to the team failed to match up with the standards of the Indian side.

Jason Holder feels that his side could never match up with the pace of the game. The bowlers had some good partnerships in between but never managed to dominate the game. The team is relatively young so there is a feeling in the back of the minds of youngster such as Roston, Shane Dowrich, Chandrika, Holder himself to do well individually in order to make a mark and cement their positions in the team. But this approach hurts the collective performance of the team. Even the seniors failed to step up and lead from the front such as Marlon Samuels who scored 1 & 50 in his two innings whereas the so called replica of Brian Lara, Darren Bravo could not produce the same amount of runs which the latter used to produce for the team.

a?Execution is the name of the game. It is very important for us to bring a combined effort on the field. There is a need for longer and dominating partnerships with both bat and ball. We never managed to lay any sort of pressure on the Indian batting unit in the 1st innings and when it came to the batting department, things turned bizarre,a? Said the West Indian skipper.

a? Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels need to lead the inexperienced batting line up from the front as they are the most experienced players in the sidea?, he added.
