Liverpool and Manchester United are set to battle it out over the signing of A?39m-rated GrA?mio forward Luan Vieira.

The 23-year-old is one of Brazil’s most highly rated prospects after he scored 17 goals in the Brazilian top tier for GrA?mio last season. Being a winger by trade, he is also highly capable of playing in a more advanced role as a number nine.

Luan continued his superior form at this summer’s Olympics, scoring three and assisting two, as Brazil paved their way to bag the gold medal on August 20.

Both clubs have already held talks with the player, with GrA?mio reportedly willing to sell the star should the right offer come by.

Luan has an a80 release clause in his contract, but with clubs unlikely to pay such an exorbitant fee, an offer of around a45 million or A?39m should be enough let the Brazilian side sell the famed player this summer.

However, both the English Clubs may face a tough battle to get the Brazilian to sign as Juventus has reportedly shown keen interest in landing the player.

If United are able to bring Luan to Old Trafford, they would be have a player with great potential who could go on to become a real star. With Luanas ability to play both – as a winger and as an out and out front man, he would offer great versatility to the United side.

Having an eye for a goal is just one of the many trades that the Brazilian possesses. Luan could offer opportunities of goals and assists to Mourinhoas men as the club aims to win back the Premier League title for the first time since 2013.

With Mourinho likely to change his squad for the four competitions that the club is involved in this season, it would give Luan a real opportunity to showcase his talent to the ManU fans.

Whether Luan moves to Manchester United or not this summer remains to be seen. However, one thing is for sure that we can expect at least one new face to arrive at Old Trafford before the summer is out.
