New Delhi/Gurugram, November 26th, 2018: The third bilateral Golf Test match between the Senior and mid-amateur teams of India and South Africa, is all set to tee-off at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa resort in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, from Wednesday, November 27th, 2018. India seniors will be led by 1983 cricket world cup winning captain- the legendary Kapil Dev, at the Greg Norman designed course.

The ‘Test’, jointly organized by Indian Golf Union (IGU) and GolfRSA and sponsored by the AVT Group ends on Friday, when India will be looking to win their first crown after being on the losing side on the previous two occasions, once at home and in the previous edition played in South Africa.

Day one will be played in the Foursome format, day two in the Fourballs format and the final championship day on Friday will have Singles matches being played.

The Indian senior team besides Kapil will comprise of former Asian Games gold medalist Rishi Narain, another Gurugram local Kulvinder Singh who is also the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Vijay Kumar Bhadana.

This is the same team that claimed a top five finish in the Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship at the end of October and could prove hard to beat at home.

“We are in great form and all charged up,” said Kapil as they practiced on course before the game. “I am feeling more determined than I have ever felt to win for India, given we have not yet won against the Proteas in this sport,” he signed off confidently.

The mid-amateurs team features HS Kang, Simarjeet Singh, Gagan Verma and Lakhan Singh.

The Proteas on the other hand are fielding their experienced top three ranked seniors Morgan Philips, Steve Williams and Craig Kamps besides fifth ranked Andre Van Dyk. The first two named were part of the first two Golf Tests between the two nations as well.

The South Africa mid-amateurs team will comprise of Gerlou Roux, Ruan Botha, Derek Scullard and Ernest Botha.
