The International Olympic Committee would release the final verdict of one of the biggest doping scandals by Russia in a week prior to the opening ceremony on 5th August. The IOC is carefully analyzing all a?legal actionsa? and is waiting for Court of Arbitration in Sport (CAS) decision before deciding to impose a blanket ban on Russian competitors.

Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren had reported was a “state-dictated fail safe system” of drug cheating to the World Anti-Doping Agency which has brought a shock to the world of sports and raises questions on the integrity of Russia. Following these allegations the IOC Ahas already banned Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko and all other ministry officials from the Rio Games and withdrawn backing for international events in Russia.
