The Indian men’s kabaddi team got off to a flying start at the Asian Games with a 55-18 victory over Bangladesh in Hangzhou on Tuesday. India earned a 15-point lead at 24-9 in the first half before extending their lead further in the second half. 
When asked about India’s performance, two-time Asian Games Gold Medallist Ram Mehar Singh said, “We got a chance to see each and every player of the Indian squad in action today. The starting seven looked great and the players on the bench also played very well. Every athlete played at their best. The Indian team put up a balanced performance.”
The former India Captain and Pro Kabaddi League franchise – Gujarat Giants’ Head Coach further added, “The athletes played with a clear mind and the team implemented a great strategy against Bangladesh. India should keep their eye on the Gold Medal and continue their great form.”
Speaking about India’s next match against Thailand, Ram Mehar Singh said, “Some players in the starting seven may be given a rest in the match against Thailand. The Indian side will certainly be the favourites against Thailand.” 
Ram Mehar Singh also credited the Pro Kabaddi League for India’s performance on the big stage, “We have a great side with a lot of star players. The Pro Kabaddi League has played a huge role in helping us build a strong national team.”

The Indian men’s kabaddi team will take on Thailand in their next Group A match on Wednesday at 6 AM IST.
