The Sheru Classic Maha Mumbai Kabaddi League, which is happening live in Mumbai University, Kalina, has become interesting as the teams are nearing the playoffs and two of the top four slots are already full.
The eleventh day of the Sheru Classic MMKL started with men’s junior matches. The first match saw the Mumbai Ultras Kabaddi Club take over the Mumbai che Maharaje as they tried to get a spot in the top four. The second match helped Raje Chandrarao Warriors get a clean sweep against the August Kranti Express, helping them get to the third spot in the points table. The third and the fourth match assured the playoffs spot for the current top two teams, Gavali Dhurandhar and Borivali Bahubali, ending the hopes for Goregaon Gladiators while Namo Bharat hope to make it in their next and last match at the league stage. The junior matches brought us some brilliant performances from Subodh Shelar, Yash Dongare, and Dinesh Yadav.

The second half of the day brought to us the tussle between the senior category men’s teams. The first match turned out to be one of the most nail-biting matches from the league, as the Mumbai che Maharaje defeated the Mumbai Ultras Kabaddi Club by a single point, with the help of a stellar performance from Akash Kadam. The win helped Maharaje get the third spot in the points table, just above the Mumbai Ultras. The second match from the senior category saw the Goregaon Gladiators redeem themselves as they beat the Borivali Bahubalis with a whopping 25 points. The Bahubalis however, remained at the bottom most position with just two points in their kitty.

The twelfth day of the league will bring to us the competition between the women’s junior category teams as they battle it out to make it to the finals. The second half of the day will be action-packed with the senior category men’s matches, as we hope to find out the top 4 teams to qualify for the playoffs.
