The contract conundrum has always bothered players, but it seems that Santi Cazorla wants to and has no problem staying at Arsenal, despite transfer rumours.

Arsenal has a boatload of contract questions to ask and offer. From Ozil all the way to Alexis, both who now want 250k a week deals. Then there are situations that werenat asking questions but are being pre-emptively being answered just incase, like Iwobi and Hector Bellerin. But then thereas Santi Cazorla, our little midfield maestro.

The Spanish playmaker did extend his contract in summer but only for a year. He has however, acknowledged that he wants to sign a new deal but nothing has popped up yet. However, it seems that El Cholo (Diego Simeone) is after the 31 year old. Cazorla has insisted that he wants to stay at Arsenal simply put because heas very happy here and he feels important. Which he is and he also happens to be an integral part of the Arsenal side. Since he came off the bench against Liverpool and provided us with some hope of a comeback, Cazorla has started nearly every game.

You always want to reward loyalty and heart, which Santi Cazorla has in abundance. He simply loves it here and youad have a very difficult time finding a fan who hates the Spaniard. The midfield maestro, who had difficulties when he first shifted to North London, soon found himself at home.

But one has to wonder, are we being ruthless here?? We are pushing for greatness, but does that mean discarding players who have stuck with us?? Sure, he may be over the hill in a few years but that doesnat mean that we simply discard him as a free transfer. But then again it runs the risk of him just fading out and thus not being of any further value to Arsenal.

Heas in such a gray area that nobody knows what to do here!! Normally people would look at both sides and stand their ground as they state their point, but with this. With this itas different. Not even Iam sure of what to fish out of the big gray sea that Cazorla has found him in. There are perks to both sides however.

History says keep him, at least for another year or so. Letting him go for free, defeats any purpose and itas just bad to treat a loyal player like that. But Arsenal, will take a tremendous risk in signing a long term contract but he deserves it.

However our recent past says to sell the man. Sad I know but true it is. Henry, Vieira and even Van Persie were all sold for profit and they were about the same age, give or take a few years. So sell him to a decent club and get some profit in the process. Sounds ruthless and horrible, trust me I know.

Could this be his last season at Arsenal???!

The best case scenario?? Well, give him an extension for maybe a year or two and then see what happens. If he shows no signs of slowing down, then let him remain at the club. Because even the thought of selling Santi makes me feel queasy, but the sad truth is if Arsenal really wants to turn a corner then they have to keep improving. They need to find someone, whoas as good as our Maestro and also as loves the club as much as he does.

A conflict that only a few can solve and weare obviously conflicted here! What would you do??
