Bengaluru: Mumbai FC travel to Bengaluru in an away fixture against the table toppers Bengaluru FC in the tie to be held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru in the third round of the Hero I-League season.

Mumbai face Bengaluru FC away in the third round of the I-League. Both the teams come on the back of consecutive wins in their previous matches. The top of the table clash will determine who will stay at the top of the table after the third round of matches.

Mumbai were victorious against DSK Shivajians at home and away at Churchill Brothers with good showing from the all-Indian squad of manager Santosh Kashyap. The manager will likely stick to his winning combination in this fixture too with his attacking lineup. Keeper Laxmikant Kattimani between the sticks with centre-backs Pratik Chaudhari and Lalcchawnkima in defense supported by Shallum Pires and Reagan Singh as the wing-backs. The midfield general Siam Hanghal will have Pratesh Shirodkar beside him and Thoi Singh ahead to kick start the Mumbai attack. The attack will be led by skipper Steven Dias along with Farukh Chaudhary and Victorino Fernandes in support.

Bengaluru have a strong squad with a lot of Indian national players led by Indian Captain Sunil Chhetri along with players like C.K Vineeth, Lenny Rodrigues, Udanta Singh, Eugenson Lyngdoh and Rino Anto. The signing of former Mumbai defender Sandesh Jhingan further bolsters their defense which has the experienced John Johnson at the helm. Bengaluru are yet to concede a goal and will surely provide a stern test to Santosh Kashyap’s men and this game will be a true test of the calibre of his young squad.

Mumbai and Bengaluru have developed a strong rivalry in the recent years with both teams sharing the spoils in head-to-head comparison with a win a piece for each and 4 draws. The Mumbai-Bengaluru matches tend to be hotly contested and will surely promise exciting action on the pitch with both the teams’ fans passionately urging on their team to victory.

Probable Starting XI – Kattimani (GK), Shallum Pires, Pratik Chaudhari, Lalchhawnkima, Reagan Singh, Siam Hanghal, Pratesh Shirodkar, Thoi Singh, Faroukh Chaudhury, Victorino Fernandes, Steven Dias (C)
