Defeating the table-toppers- Delhi Capitals, winning a tight contest against Mumbai Indians following a tussle of 2 Super overs (statistically the first & probably the last) incident to occur in the history of IPL & bettering the Royal Challengers Bangalore showcasing the strength of their top 3 batsmen- the Kings XI from Punjab have managed to tick all the boxes in the recent performances.

From a mere 2 points from 7 encounters & juggling around the bottom 2 places in the points table to gaining 10 points from equal number of encounters. The KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab have certainly had the last laugh so far in the tournament.

Restricting the table-toppers to 164/5 despite a marvellous knock from in-from batsmen Shikhar Dhawan (106*) who became the first player in history of IPL to register back-to-back hundreds & then finishing the game with an over to spare after a poor start showcases the grit, determination, will to perform against all the odds & gaining a new boon in the competition.

The franchise had the nightmares of the start in the competition managing just 1 win in the 7 games. The 10-wicket loss against CSK & failure to defend 223/2 against the Rajasthan Royals did put the team to a major setback, but post return of the Universal Boss- Christopher Henry Gayle- it has shattered the points table to best of their interest. KL Rahul & Mayank Agarwal will certainly be the first choice for opening duo if a Combined XI of the mid-season is to be prepared.

Mohammed Shami has successfully managed to use the swing assistance from pitch to his advantage. Though he seems far away from matching the current leading wicket-taker, KasigoRabada’s (DC) tally of 21 wickets, he will aim to sync with other KXIP bowling squad to emerge as one of the best bowling contingent of IPL 2020.
