The Finnish driver has renewed his contract with Ferrari for the 2017 season thus putting an end to months of speculation and rumours.
Despite there being numerous linkages of many drivers pegged with a move to the Italian team in order to replace Raikkonen, but the announcement has put a a full stop on all such speculations.
The 36-year old driver had said earlier that he would end his Formula One career with Ferrari and reiterated the same. He also said that he wouldn’t have continued the association with the motor racing team if he wasn’t motivated, as reported by Sport24.
Raikkonen had raced with Ferrari earlier as well, winning the championship in 2007 and rejoined the team in 2014 from Lotus.
In this season Ahe is on level with teammate Sebastian Vettel in the points tally with nine races already taken place.
