Indian colts endure a tough loss to Great Britain!
A tough encounter ended in a loss for the India’s junior men’s hockey team, as they lost 2-1 to the English at the Bisham Abbey Sports Academy. Although the Indian’s did dominant during the opening minutes, and even came close a couple times, opening the scoring in the 24th minute, when Ajay Yadav scored through a penalty corner.
The English however, managed to it back with two quick goals, the first after they converted a penalty corner from Will Calnan a mere two minutes after the opening goal and then took the lead through a Ed Horler’s goal in the 30th minute, four minutes later.
With the start of the second half, the Indians again came out stronger and created chances, but a strong English defence managed to hold off the Indian attack and denied them multiple chances at an equaliser, as they managed to hold their lead.A”We are creating several chances, but have been missing too many opportunities in front of goal. It is a fault we will rectify and hope to improve in the next match.” said the coach Harender Singh after the match.
