Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic warned Chelsea fans that under new manager Antonio Conte, quick fixes cannot be expected. Antonio Conte began his tenure on a losing note. It was a disappointing campaign last season thatAthe former Premier League champions undewent last season. They finished on 10th position and will now have to rely on Conteas passionate touchline presence and work ethic to gain back their winning ways.
“We’re buying into what the manager wants us to do, we’re working hard to try and improve and work in a different way,” Begovic told the club’s website.
“It’s going to take a bit of time, it’s a process, but so far so good and over time we’ll get better.
“He (Conte) communicates very well, so he got his message across at half time and before the game. We expect to work hard, that’s part of pre-season. We’re trying to be much disciplined. The work ethic is very strong,a? he added.
Just four clean sheets were managed in 17 league appearances for Chelsea by Former Stoke City goalkeeper Begovic, last season. Thibaut Courtois was the first choice goalkeeper and Begovic was used as a back-up.
The discussions about the team for next season had not yet been held by the manager, informed the 29-year-old. “He (Conte) hasn’t explained too much at all, to be honest,” Begovic added.
