In what was one of the best games of the season so far, Celtic under Brendan Rodgers gave Guardiolaas City a torrid time at Celtic Park.

The Celts opened the scoring, only for City to equalize 8 minutes later. Then again Celtic went ahead after an own goal, only for City to score 8 minutes later through Raheem Sterling who also scored the own goal. Moussa Demeble again put Rodgeras side in front after a spectacular overhead kick, only for Nolito to equalize 8 minutes later.

On paper, this looked like a pretty easy win for Pepas side with the added bonus of equalling Spursas record of 11 sucessive victories at the start of a campaign. But this was anything but easy for Manchester City, as Brendan Rodgers managed to rally his team, after they were thrashed 7-0 by BarcelonaAlast time. He even said after the match a?Collectively, we were outstanding,a said the Hoops boss. a?Tonight, how they played andAperformed was top class. That will give them confidence going forward.a

But City now drop to second in Group C, after Barcelona beat Borussia MAnchengladbach 2-1. Thorgan Hazard managed to put the German side ahead in the first half after a brilliant counter attack. However goals from Arda Turan and Pique gave the Catalans the win and sent them to the top of Group C after Matchday 2.

Over at the Vicente Calderon, Atletico Madrid beat Bayern Munich again (They beat them in the semi finals last year), after Yannick Carrasco put Simoneas side ahead in the 35th minute. The win takes Atletico to the top of Group D, after PSV and FC Rostov played out a 2-2 draw at the end of Matchday 2.

Arsenal took care of FC Basel with considerable ease last night after barely managing to getAa point in Paris on the first matchday. The Gunners took the lead early in the 7th minute, which they double 20 minutes later, again through Theo Walcott. Alexis Sanchez was the playmaker for both goals but the Chilean could have made things even worse as heAmissed two chances.

Arsenal, however are level with PSG on both points and goal difference in Group A after Matchday 2. The French side beat Ludogorets 3-1, despite conceding the first goal. A freekick gave the Bulgarian side the lead, but Blasie Matuidi equalised before half time. Then Edison Cavani scored twice in the second half to complete the comeback.

In Group B Napoli beat Benifca 4-2, to continue their excellent start to the season. Dinamo Kiev on the other hand came back to draw 1-1 against Besiktas in Istanbul, after substitute Tsygankov cancelled out Quaresma’s opener.
