MUNICH (Germany) – The FIBA Europe Cup Finals for the 2022-23 season are now set with Anwil Wloclawek and Cholet Basket advancing to the title showdown.

Both teams will be competing in the Final of the competition for the first time as they battle to be crowned the seventh different winner in FIBA Europe Cup history.

Anwil completed a 157-134 overall victory over Karhu Basket after backing up a convincing first leg win at home, while Cholet overturned a seven-point deficit to beat BC Kalev/Cramo 81-59 in the second leg to complete a historic run to the Finals from the Qualifiers.

Cholet can become the second French winners in FIBA Europe Cup history as they bid to follow on from 2017 winners Nanterre 92, who defeated compatriots Elan Chalon in the two-legged Finals.

Meanwhile, Anwil are now the second team from Poland to reach the Final of the competition after Arged BMSLAM Stal finished as runners-up to Ironi Ness Ziona in the 2020-21 season.

Cholet earn home advantage for the second leg of the Finals as a result of their higher ranking in the classification of teams from the Second Round.

The first leg of the Finals will take place in Wloclawek on April 19 before the champions are crowned in France as the return fixture is scheduled to be played on April 26.
