The outspoken Portuguese gave a start to new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who looked half fit during the game. The Armenian, injured during the international friendly games, was eventually subbed off at half-time. Mourinho began youngster Jesse Lingard, who lost the ball a couple of times and could not provide support to Ibrahimovic. The duo were replaced by Rashford and Ander Herrera, which gave United an attacking bite in the second half.
