Minerva Academy has been committed to seeing Indian Football rise and their
contribution continues as it is of extreme honor and joy to announce that five
talented players from the Minerva Academy have secured their place in the final
squad of the highly anticipated 19th Asian Games Men’s Football tournament.
Narender Gehlot, Anwar Ali, Jeakson Singh, Sandesh Jhingan, and Vikram Pratap
Singh will proudly represent India as they step onto the field to compete against
Asia’s finest teams.
The presence of these exceptional players reinforces Minerva’s reputation for
nurturing top-notch football talents. Narender Gehlot’s strong defensive skills,
coupled with the defensive prowess of Anwar Ali and Sandesh Jhingan, will
undoubtedly form a solid foundation for the team.
Sandesh Jhingan has already proved over the years how dependable he is and he
has been added to the squad as one of the three eligible senior players along with
the U-23 youngsters while Anwar Ali has been a sensation in defense with his
ball-playing ability and quality defensive skills ever since he has made his powerful
comeback after a heart condition which restricted him to play football. Meanwhile, Jeakson Singh’s prowess as a defensive midfielder promises to be a vital
asset in controlling the midfield and the first-ever goal scorer for India in a FIFA
World Cup has now become a regular for the Senior National Team.
Adding on to the attack Vikram Partap Singh, the young and dynamic forward, has
already showcased his goal-scoring abilities at the age group level and for the U-23
squad as well, and his inclusion in the squad adds a potent attacking threat.
With these five Minervans in the mix, the team is all set to take on the challenges of
the Asian Games with zeal and determination.
It’s worth mentioning that the squad consists of a talented Under 23 lineup, and with
the allowance of three senior players and Sandesh Jhingan, also known as the “Wall
of Indian Defence,” being among them will bring invaluable experience and
leadership to the young squad.
Minerva Academy, renowned for its commitment to developing outstanding football
talent, takes immense pride in contributing five exceptional players to the national
team. This achievement speaks volumes about the club’s dedication to nurturing
future football stars and its passion for the Indian National football team.
As we cheer on the Indian Men’s Football team, fondly known as the “Warriors,” we
extend our heartfelt congratulations to Narender Gehlot, Anwar Ali, Jeakson Singh,
Sandesh Jhingan, and Vikram Pratap Singh on making it into the prestigious 19th
Asian Games squad.
We have complete faith that these talented players will showcase their best on the
pitch and make the nation proud.
The entire Minerva Football Club family wishes them and the entire Indian National
Team the best of luck for a remarkable and successful journey in the 19th Asian
Games Men’s Football competition.
