India’s World Cup winning coach Gary Kirsten will hold a 10 day training camp to train the young and cricket crazy boys and girls at the RCA in Rajasthan. The camp starts on the 5th of September and according to a press release, Kristen will be there with with his entire coaching team.
With the upcoming domestic season, memebers of the RCA, hope that Kristen and his team can fine tune the state team’s skills. The session will also involve training modules which also includes, strength and conditioning programmes apart from net sessions and special sessions with Gary himself.
The South African is not the first coach and certainly not the first international coach to offer his skills at the RCA. Greg Chappell, the former Indian head coach has spent some time at Rajasthan. The RCA had hired the former AustralianAcaptain as a consultant, while South African bowler Meyrick Pringle was appointed the bowling coach in 2011 as a technical expert.
Pankaj Singh, the onlyAIndia pacer to come out of Rajasthan lately, feels that Kirstenas advice will be a big boost. The pacer was part of the team which went to Zimbabwe while Kristen was still the coach of the Indian team.
He said in an interview ‘We have been hearing that Kirsten will be coming and having camp with us. I was under him for brief time and he has a great understanding of the game. He gives space to each player.
