Regarded as the best Captain in the world, Ricky ponting retired from test cricket on 3 December 2012. His farewell didn’t go the way as one would hope for. He scored only 12 in his last match and Australia was defeated by 309 runs. Ponting played 168 test matches and scored 13,378 runs at an average of 51.85 which includes 41 centuries.
