West Indies cricketer Darren Sammy will not be the part of the team for the world Twenty 20 in Florida on August 27-28. Sammy who has led Indies to two world twenty 20 victories will no longer be the captain of the team as reported by the player in a video on facebook.
The selectors broke the news to Darren over a phone call that lasted for30 seconds. The main reason for his omission from the team has been attributed to his low performance. The 32A year old right handed batsman and fast medium bowler was the captain of the team during the T20 victory against Sri Lanka in 2012 ICC World T20 championship. He also led the team to another T20 victory in 2016 against England. The match had witnessed Carlos Brathwaite pull four sixes in the last over while Sammy had made it to only 8 runs and one wicket.
Sammy was appointed West Indies captain in 2010. Sammy acknowledges that he had accepted it as the biggest challenge of his life and handled the difficulties and responsibilities of the tasks successfully. The player said,a?
