Mumbai Marines FC would look to put its disappointing 1-0 loss against Mumbai Ultras as they take on Veniza Virar in their next MFA Super League fixture on Monday, 3rd October 2022.

MUMBAI, October 2: Mumbai Marines FC suffered their very first loss of the Super League season in the Mumbai Derby against Mumbai Ultras. After the scoreline remained 0-0 for the entirety of 90 minutes, Mumbai Ultras scored the winner on the counter as Mumbai Marines FC were caught on the break.

With one win from two matches in September, Mumbai Marines FC will look to kick-start October on a high as they face a winless Veniza Virar side. Veniza Virar are yet to open their account in the MFA Super League.

Here’s what captain Jacob Jacques had to say on the 1-0 loss, “We played our previous match well and were tactically sound. We created some wonderful chances, hit the goalpost twice but failed to score. One slip up in the game cost us three crucial points. Everyone is enraged with the loss and we look forward to our next match with the intention of not only winning but also dominating it.”

Mumbai Marines FC are currently fifth in the table with one win and one loss, three points out of the possible six. Veniza Virar are ninth in the table, yet to win therefore still on zero points. Mumbai Marines FC will be looking to start October 2022 on a winning note.
