AHMEDABAD, MAY 1: The last week of April saw the commencing of the Indian Women’s League 2023 where in 16 teams were divided into two groups of eight.

Mumbai Knights FC were placed in Group A. With that being said, they made a bright start to their IWL 2023 campaign winning back to back matches with a 1-0 scoreline.

A 1-0 win against Kahaani FC in the opening match and another 1-0 win against Mata Rukmani FC in the second match both at Shahibaug Police Ground.

Head coach Rutuja Gunwant demonstrated immense faith in all her players, rotating four to five players in the second match as they went from a 5-3-2 in the opening match to a 4-3-3 in the second match.

Priyanka’s first half strike proved enough to seal all three points in the opening match. An own goal proved to be the match winner in the second match for Mumbai Knights FC.

Their latest opponents Misaka United FC have had somewhat contrasting results. They won their opening match 2-0 against Mata Rukmani FC and lost their second match by 1-0 against HOPS FC.

Mumbai Knights are all set to face Misaka United FC at the Transstadia on Tuesday, 2nd May with the kickoff being at 8am.

Can Mumbai Knight FC make it a hat trick of wins? Or will Misaka United FC get the better of Mumbai Knights FC?
