Brazilian Amanda Nunes stops Rousey in a minute to retain her bantamweight title on a painful night for the former champion.
The UFC’s final show of the year marked women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes against the returning superstar Ronda Rousey from Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Brazilian champion was making the first defence of her newly-minted title against Rousey topping UFC 207.
Rousey got demolished by the reigning bantamweight champion in just 48 seconds . And Nunes has successfully defended the title. Nunes came out swinging and totally stunned her opponent . Rousey was in immediate trouble , and the fight didn’t last much longer, as Nunes destroyed the challenger with a bevy of punches.

Rousey was hoping to take back the bantamweight title she lost when a brutal Holly Holm kick left her unconscious on the canvas at Docklands stadium in November 2015.
The knockout was so brutal that it took Rousey over a year to return to sport. But Nunes was in no mood to bow down to the one -time queen of the UFC , rocking Rousey with the fist of punches of the fight. Nunes was blistering her with combinations, hitting her with virtually everything she threw. Nunes landed 23 of 25 strikes all of which were powerful shots.
Rousey could not compete in her first fight since losing her belt to Holm 13 months ago in her first career defeat. The loss leaves Rouseyas future in serious question.ANunes extends her win streak to five, after claiming the title at the marquee UFC 200 dethroning Miesha Tate.
She now improves her professional record to 14-4 and 7-1 inside the Octagon. Nunes became the first fighter to successfully defend the 135-pound title since Rousey did it against Bethe Correia in August of 2015. A little over three months later, Rousey lost the belt via knockout to Holly Holm, who lost the title to Miesha Tate, who was dethroned by Nunes.
