Ahmedabad – April 04, 2023: Defending champions of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat Titans (GT) started the new season with a victory at their home ground – the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on March 31, 2023. Apart from winning hearts with great on-field performances, the team has created a niche for itself off it with a unique fan engagement strategy. The Tata IPL fans were overwhelmed by a series of activities that the team lined up for this season as well as arrangements made to ensure an unforgettable experience during the opening match at Narendra Modi Stadium.
Deepak Shinde, a professor at a noted university in Mumbai, shared, “I didn’t want to miss the opening of the Tata IPL this year, especially since it was returning to the home-and-away format after a gap of four years. Whatever trepidations I had about travelling to another city to watch the matches vanished when I saw the arrangements that Gujarat Titans made for its fans – right from interesting activities like selfie booth to making your banners, and food made available at nominal prices. The trip to Ahmedabad from Mumbai just for the game has not just been a paisa-vasool experience, but also an unforgettable one.”
The highlights of the fan activities that Gujarat Titans lined up at the stadium include the 360-Degree Video Booth Spinner, a major attraction as it allowed fans to create a 360-dance cam moments of themselves, supporting their favourite team. Other activities that fans took to in a big way also included making quirky banners that they carried to the stadium, selfie booth and multiple photo-opp installations of the team’s slogans like ‘Aava De’ and ‘Home of the Gujarat Titans’. The team has setup 160 food stalls, offering a variety of dishes and snacks at nominal prices.
Radhika Hathi, a copy-writer, said, “The experience at the opening of the Tata IPL has been unique. I’ve been a fan of Gujarat Titans from the beginning. While their achievements make me proud, given that they are just a year-old in IPL, the way they engage with their fans is unbelievable. I’ve never seen any other team to do that. I was surprised to see the fun opportunities they created for their fans. We walked away with a whole lot of memorable moments from the match that day.”
Dinesh Paleja, an intern at an advertising firm in Ahmedabad, said that he is never going to forget the opening game. “I was all prepared to immerse myself in the match, but I didn’t expect to walk away with a whole lot of other experiences. It turned out to be a gathering of sport fans, dabbling in all kinds of fun activities that were lined up there. What I liked was the fan zone which featured the 360 Degree-Video Booth Spinner, where we could create dance-cam video with our favourite cricket team. I could share it immediately on my social media accounts with the help of the instant video-sharing mechanism that they arranged for us. It has truly been a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience.”

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) have kindly agreed to provide an enhanced service for convenience of the fans on Match Day. The enhanced service will run for two hours until after the end of the match.

Gujarat Titans is running a free shuttle service for their fans, to ferry them from their parking locations to the Narendra Modi Stadium. These shuttle services are available from select parking locations only (which are located further away from the stadium).
