Germany and Chile face off for the top spot of Group B at the Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia.
Joachim Low’s men got off to a shaky start to this campaign, beating Australia 3-2 in a cagey affair. They will be disappointed to have conceded the two goals against the Socceroos. They will look to step their game up when take on Chile.
Chile also won their last match, with a more comfortable margin than Die Mannschaft. La Roja came up against Cameroon, seeing them off 2-0 courtesy of goals from Arturo Vidal and Eduardo Vargas.
Although, in a game like this, previous results don’t matter in the slightest. It’s a game which sees two top quality nationalities battling it out for the pride of their people. The stats do favour the World Cup champions though; out of the four meetings between the two sides, Chile have failed to overcome Germany.
German coach Joachim Low has taken a squad to Russia with an average age of 24 years and four months; which is the youngest of all eight competing nations in Russia. La Roja, have the tournament’s oldest players with an average age of just over 29.
The winner of this match will qualify for the semifinals, while the loser will have a must-win scenario in the final group game.
